The brief
What Northwind came to us with.
Northwind needed a brand film that could carry their entire 2026 relaunch — something that worked as a hero piece on the homepage, but could also cut down into six-second social bumpers without losing its identity. The challenge wasn't just capturing product; it was capturing the feeling of being outdoors with people you trust, without it tipping into stock-footage cliché.
the approach
How we translated that into a creative direction.
We built the concept around a single unbroken sensation — looking up. Every setup was shot from a low, upward angle, keeping the sky as a constant backdrop and putting the cast's expressions front and center. It's a simple visual rule, but it gave the edit a consistent rhythm and made the film instantly recognizable in a three-second scroll.
production
The actual shoot.
Shot over two days on location, with a three-person crew running lightweight cinema rigs to stay mobile between setups. Natural light only — no artificial fill — which meant chasing the right hour of daylight for each scene rather than forcing it. Wardrobe and cast were kept deliberately unstyled, closer to documentary casting than a traditional commercial shoot.
post production
The edit and finish.
The edit prioritized pacing over plot — no dialogue, no voiceover, just rhythm cut to a custom score. Color grading pulled warmth into the skin tones while keeping the sky slightly desaturated, so the two elements never compete. Delivered as a 90-second hero cut, a 30-second broadcast edit, and four vertical cutdowns for paid social.
